I was introduced to sound at an early age. My family has been involved in manufacturing microphones and audio equipment. I learnt music; played and crewed for bands. I became interested in sound production. I decided to undertake a Master’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bristol to buttress my understanding of audio techniques and equipment. This led to brief stints as a sound engineer and as a guitarist and amplifier design researcher at Marshall Amplification Plc. My research paper in digital audio techniques and filter design with Texas Instruments was awarded a first class.

I developed tools for sound; I looked for a medium through which I could apply my techniques so that I could learn more about creative expression using sound. My curiosity in sound for film was fired by my experiences with sound and its documentation combined with my interest in photography.

I have since assisted in post-production, worked on a variety of films, and have developed interests in both location and post-production sound.

In late 2004 I was selected as one of 6 students to study sound for film at the National Television and Film School in Beaconsfield, England. I have had the opportunity to train with and learn from awarded industry professionals.
